It seems like there is very little going on this time of year, but for some reason I stay so busy!
Ben had a coughing attack that started Wednesday night and lasted for about 15 hours. None of his asthma medication was helping and the two cough medicine prescriptions I had for him weren't giving him any relief either. I could tell that he was starting to wheeze pretty bad too. Needless to say, no one slept on Wednesday night. After I dropped Lexi off at school on Thursday I took him to the doctor to get a steroid prescription to help his lungs. He's had a runny nose for a few weeks, but it really didn't seem to be bothering him. After his exam the doctor determined that he now has allergies (thanks Beaumont!) on top of the asthma. I asked how old Ben had to be before he could use an inhaler, because I practically have to sit on him keep him still for a breathing treatment 4 or more times a day. He said he could use one now with a special device that has a mouth piece. I was game for trying anything that wouldn't take 10 minutes to nebulize. We left the doctor's office with 5 prescriptions. I can honestly say that he really seems to love the inhaler. He smiles and looks at me like he instantly feels better.
Thursday was also Dudes & Dogs at Lexi's preschool. They got to go to school dressed in western clothes and have their dads (dudes) come play games and eat hot dogs with them. Ben and I were suppose to be there to help out, but we didn't make it. Thankfully, Greg was able to leave work for a couple of hours and go. Lexi was so excited that he came to her school. Afterwards she was suppose to stay, but she wanted daddy to bring her home.
We still haven't heard anything from All Saints yet about her testing. I called on Wednesday and was told that the entrance committee meet this week and that letters were to go out yesterday. Hopefully, when today's mail comes at 5pm we will have our answer.
What else...oh, Ben has learned to pull out a chair and climb on top of the table. I caught him one day smashing an apple on the table and making a big mess. Lexi decided recently to get dressed for the day over her pajamas, because it was faster. I didn't notice until about 3pm. I was glad that it wasn't a school day.
This week is Spring Break, so I'm sure the kids will be up to all kinds of things this week.
