The kids enjoyed attending the Summerwood Fall Festival this year. We picked out pumpkins that the kids got to carve and paint. Lexi rode a camel with her friend, Yasmene. Ben was going no where near it!

I had my first Parent/Teacher Conference with Lexi's teacher and she received her first report card. She did very well, as expected. She will be tested for the school district's SPICE (Special People in a Creative Environment) soon. It is a gifted/talented program for K-2nd grade.

And no, we did not choose their Halloween costumes for them!

September 2010 - Happy Birthday to Ben and Lexi!

Ben turned 3 on September 5th and Lexi turned 6 on September 21st.

Also in September, Ben started back to Mother's Day Out two days a week.  He was very happy (and so was I) to have the same teachers as last year...Mrs. Deve and Mrs. Nancy.  I began volunteering in the elementary school library on Mondays while he is there.

August 2010 - Lexi started kindergarten!

In mid-August Lexi attended Kindergarten Camp at Summerwood Elementary school.  The camp was to help the teachers get an idea of where the kids were academically, check their hearing and vision, and get their first identification pictures made for the computer system.  The following week we attended Blast Off (the school mascot is a star).  We met Lexi's teacher, Mrs. Miller and filled out tons of paperwork for various groups.

On Monday, August 23rd Lexi started kindergarten!  She attends from 8am until 1:50pm. The PTO provided a nice Boo Hoo Yahoo Breakfast for the kindergarten parents.
