Yes, it's been quite a while!
Things have been hectic the last few months. Mostly because Ben has literally been sick every other week. Lexi and I haven't fared much better. She recently had an ear infection that was so bad it moved into her sinus cavity and made her face swell. Poor thing could hardly open her eyes until she started her antibiotics. Ben is going through his typical asthma and allergy stuff for this time of year.
Both kids are getting so tall. Neither of them has hardly gained a pound, because they're using so much energy to grow. It's definitely making buying pants for them a challenge. Lexi is still loving school, but tells me everyday that she is excited about going to kindergarten at Summerwood Elementary next year. We drive by there at least twice a day. She's doing very well at dance too. She seems to pick up the steps quickly and then she helps the teacher show her friends. I suspect that she will be asked again to join the dance team next year. She told me last week that she doesn't want to play soccer again this spring, because there was too much running (and kicking). I'm trying to get her to try tennis, but she she her heart set on beginning rock climbing at our gym. Ben is on the go non-stop. He plays with everything in the house everyday. I wished out loud last weekend that he had an "on/off" switch and 5 minutes later he was sound asleep on the bottom stair. His vocabulary is getting bigger, although sometimes Lexi and I are the only ones who can translate. He still gets mad when I take him to Mother's Day Out, but enjoys singing, dancing, and playing with his friends.
Aside from being sick and everyday fun, we spend a lot of time at the gym. The kids love to go there. Lexi loves to play games on the Macs and Ben gets to watch movies on the big screen or play just about anything he wants. Sometimes they get to go outside and play ball, which they both love. Lexi is very popular there. Everyone that works downstairs knows her. She even has some of the managers come color with her in the kid's club. It takes forever to get where we're going, because she has to go into everyone she knows office and say "hi." Greg and I have been working out with personal trainers the last few months. It's a lot of fun and has been very beneficial. I just started a reformer pilates class a few weeks ago and it's great too.
The local builder just broke ground on the two houses on either side of us. There's always a big mess outside and occasionally I have to ask someone to move some type of equipment just so I can get out on at least one side of the street. It'll be nice to finally have next door neighbors. Hopefully, one of them will have small children.
I will try to blog more often this year and upload pictures too!
