September Update
Okay, where to begin...
The month began with movers arriving on the 1st to pack up and load the house. They arrived in Houston on the 4th to unload and unpack. The kids handled everything great considering they didn't have their own beds for a couple of nights. The move went fairly smooth except for when a third-party mover arrived to crate our marble table tops. One of their guys knocked a hole in our back door. They didn't tell me and after I saw it and contacted them they denied doing it. Regardless, it has been repaired now.
September 5th was Ben's 2nd birthday. Since we didn't have cable at this point and college football season was starting we all went to the sports bar where the Ohio State alumni club of Houston meets. It was nice to go see old friends, but it was difficult to watch the games and Ben at the same time. I'm sure some of you are wondering why we took the kids to a sports bar, but it is a very kid friendly place during college football season and there are lots of kids running around.
My mom arrived later in the week. We didn't get to go out and do much, because I had to hang around the house and wait for all kinds of people to stop by and do things. We did celebrate the kid's birthdays that weekend. My friend, Georgia, came over with her kids and we had pizza, cake, and ice cream. Lexi had a Hello Kitty cake and Ben had a monkey cake. Lexi ate so much more sugar than what she is used to that she had a tummy ache and was sick the following day.
Lexi loves her new school. She is still getting used to going everyday, but going to bed closer to 7pm is helping and she doesn't complain. She had a boyfriend by her second day. Apparently, he was in awe of her when she arrived the first day. Their teachers thinks it's funny that he seems like he's trying to impress her all the time. His name is Clive and he's not the typical trouble maker she has seemed to like in the past. She has also started dance. I love that in the waiting room they have televisions with live feed from the studios. It helps to keep Ben entertained since he can watch her.
Ben started Mother's Day Out on Thursday. He did great! He waved bye to me when I left. He didn't eat his lunch or take a nap, but I'm sure once he warms up a little he will.
Here are a couple of pictures of our animal friends. We have a deer family living in the reserve behind our house and lots of raccoons too. The kids love to look out to see what they might see. These were made from inside our backdoor.
