Lexi was so happy to be home so she could go to school and see her friends. She really loves school and I know she will miss her friends over the summer. She will be attending the summer program there, but it only occupies 10 hours a week. I also signed her up last week to take swimming lessons. She’ll start on June 1st at 8am. She’s very excited about being a “tadpole”. The last day of class the parents can come watch to see what the kids have learned.
We hosted our ExxonMobil play group this week. Lexi is always the oldest, but loves to play with the younger girls. When she starts at All Saints this fall she won't get an opportunity to go to our play groups anymore. Ben seemed a bit anxious about having so many people in his space, although he has seen all of them several times. Afterwards, Lexi just laid down on the couch for a couple of hours and Ben decided that he didn't need a nap after playing with his friends and eating lots of food.
We've decided to take a two week road trip toward the end of the summer. We are going to drive up to Ohio to visit Greg’s parents for a few days and then spend a few days in the Great Smoky Mountains. I’ve been researching places to stay and things to do with the kids in both places all week. Hopefully, we’ll be able to have some downtime too, because two weeks of traveling is a lot for a 4 ½ and 1 ½ year old. Our schedule will be changing a lot in the fall anyway, so I guess the trip will help with the transition.
