Private School Visit

The kids and I have been visiting the local private schools in hopes that Lexi will be able to attend this fall. In Texas the cut off date for starting kindergarten is September 1st, so she misses by 3 weeks. On Monday we visited All Saints Episcopal School where we would most like for her to go. They only have 28-32 students per grade and it is very hard to get into. She will have to be "tested and interviewed" in the next week or so to determine if she is "high achieving" enough to be accepted. The plaid jumpers that are part of their uniform are adorable. It will be very different having to wear a uniform and going from 8am-1pm everyday, instead of 9am - 2pm three days a week. Oh, and Ben will be going to Wesley Day School where Lexi is going now 9am - 2pm three days a week. That gives me 12 hours a week to do all the things I need to be able to do without the kids with me.

Our newest neighbors are expatriates from France and their children go there. Lexi has seen the kids in their uniforms many times, but they know very little English, so she doesn't get to play with them very much. She made the point of asking me, "they speak English here don't they?" when we completed the campus tour. It never crossed my mind that she thought the entire time that she we were sending her to a school where they didn't speak English. Too cute!
